Meet Chaz (& Sapphire)

Those who say cats can survive outside should reconsider. An animal loving mail carrier in Catawissa came across 15 cats in a yard on her route. Anyone could see this was a sickly group. She put food down and they all came quickly running. It was unsure if the property owner was even feeding them. Luckily they were all friendly, but they needed immediate medical care. ARC came to their aid and had them to the vet as fast as we could get appointments. All had varying degrees of upper respiratory infections, ear mites, fleas, lice and diarrhea. They wouldn’t have much time if left as they were.

Chaz and his darling Sapphire both came from this colony, though they did not find their love until they spent some time here at the shelter. Now they are nearly inseperable! They can often be found snuggling on the porch, lazily eyeing up the bunnies while entangled in each other. It is for this reason that we desperately hope to find a loving home that is open to adopting both of these sweethearts together.

Chaz is about 2 years old and is white with tabby markings. He carries a war scar from his life outdoors with his ulcerated left eye due to an untreated eye infection. He runs around just fine and he needs no long term treatment for it. He does, however, have an autoimmune disease called stomatitis, causing ulcers in the mouth, that is treated with occasional steroid shots at the vet; he is doing very well with this treatment.

Sapphire's profile can be found at www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35299543

Both Chaz and Sapphire are FeLV/FIV negative, up to date on shots, litter trained, dewormed and neutered/spayed. If you are interested in adopting Chaz and Sapphire please contact Michelle at 570-759-0920.
