Meet STARDUST

Beautiful, bodacious Bowie and stunning, sultry Stardust came to our sanctuary via Focus on Ferals in February of 2016, as Gina knew that they would be purr-fect for our facility and wanted to increase their chances at adoption. Being Feline Leukemia positive doesn’t stop beautiful Bowie, who was born in the summer of 2013, from claiming one of the top spots on the adoption circuit; as long as he is housed with cats who are fully vaccinated against the virus, or goes into a home of his very own, there is no reason why he shouldn't be considered. As awesome as they come, he is a fantastic feline with so much to offer: he is outgoing yet not overbearing, super social, gregarious and the most cordial companion one could ask for! He was actually live trapped by a FOF volunteer out in Zeeland farm country where traveling tomcats run rampant, though he appeared to be quite new on the scene and unfamiliar of his surroundings, so they suspect he was s drop-off. Bowie acclimated to the cushy indoor digs at Sid’s with eagerness and enthusiasm, which seems to be his M.O. in life in general! He did have a nasty toe infection and quite a few puncture wounds in various stages of healing when he arrived to us, so my guess is that he picked up the dastardly virus when he was on the receiving end of a bite from a positive cat. If only he had been neutered and kept indoors, more than likely he would not have contracted Feleuk, but no use crying over spilled milk; we choose to make ice cream instead! Bowie is by far the one of the sweetest confections we know, and EVERYONE who visits Big Sid's falls hopelessly in love with him!

Stardust, who is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) was born in early 2012 and is a GORGEOUS, gentle soul who clearly had experienced his unfair share of hard times before FOF took him in, As the story goes, he was one of many cats who found themselves homeless after their deadbeat, callous owners vacated their house, leaving all of their pets behind. Although a kindhearted neighbor offered an open garage as shelter for this placid pussycat, ultimately he deserved a safe environment—AND he wasn’t neutered so it was time to stop the cycle of perpetuating the stay cat population! Unfortunately it took over a year for FOF to be contacted, and by that time this fabulous flame point was the only remaining cat; no one involved knows what happened to the other cats, who seemingly didn’t fare as well as Stardust, but thankfully he is out of harms way and literally living in ‘cat heaven’ here with us! In spite of life on the streets, fights and squabbles while intact , this captivating cat could not be more mellow or laid back if he tried. He is a big, loveable lug who doesn’t so much as lift an eyebrow or twitch a whisker when others around him grumble or fuss— he is simply too calm, cool and collected for that! And since apparently doesn’t possess a mean streak or harbor even a twinge of orneriness in his buff, muscular body, the chance of transmission of the virus is negligible, as it can only be contacted via penetrating bite wounds. Now that he is a spoiled indoor housecat, there is no risk of that, but there is a VERY strong possibility of him stealing your heart and running away with it:)

As always, thanks to Gina at Focus on Ferals for coming to the rescue of those in need, and especially for sending the two amazing, affable, ADORABLE boys our way!
