Please allow me to introduce myself - my foster mom calls me Sugar Bear, and that name fits me to a T! I'm a handsome guy with a face full of character and a heart full of love.
I have a surprisingly calm and affectionate personality, especially given the rough start I had in life. I prefer to accentuate the positive and not dwell on the past, but there are a few things you should know about me. Until my foster family took me in, I had never actually spent much time in a house before so I'm still perfecting my inside manners. I've learned how to sit and how to stay, and I'm now both house and crate trained. I'm learning how to lie down, and how to wait my turn before going through doors and up and down stairs, but there's still some work to be done there. I'm not completely comfortable riding in the car yet, but I'm getting used to it and as long as there's a window I can stick my head out of, I'm content!
Cats intrigue me, but I'm rather exuberant in my attempts to play with them, so it's probably best that I go to a cat-free home. I get along well with other dogs, though, and have been known to snuggle my foster Pug brother on more than one occasion!
Because of my prey drive, I'll either need a securely fenced yard or an invisible fence to keep me safe. And, believe me, once you get to know me, you'll never want me to leave! I'm a huge snuggle-bug, I'm unbelievably gentle when taking treats, I love to give kisses, and I'm easy on the eyes, too!
Another new guy to Green Dogs Unleashed is this handsome Black Lab / Pitty mix. We are calling him 'Serious Black', and he is a total DOLL! Serious Black is laid back and happy to be loved and snuggled. He is amazing with kids and other dogs. He is so terrified of cats that he will leave the room when they approach. He rides well in the car and does great in a crate. Serious Black is a neutered 2 years old boy. Please let us know if he's just the one you have been looking for !!
