When Gina from Focus on Ferals first contacted me about taking in a brand-spanking new Feleuk guy she had taken in, I wasn’t in a position to help her that night. No worries though, as she housed him over the weekend and I got him into our program the following week just two days before Halloween; sadly we had lost one of our beloved Sid’s Kids the day before, so we had a spot open up at our sanctuary. Seems that this darling boy had been one of many cats that was to be TNR’d on the SE side of town, but instead of making things a challenge, he decided to walk right on in the trap himself, securing his spot and a nice meal as well. When he tested positive, Gina was disheartened to say the least, as this outgoing gray and white fella is such a keeper!

Born in the summer of 2011, Poconose had no business running wild on the busy streets of Grand Rapids; he is too gentle and congenial to NOT be a family pet. He immediately took over the intake suite at the clinic as his own, meeting and greeting all visitors, human and feline, with such unbridled enthusiasm I couldn’t help but laugh; he was acting like a kid at Christmastime! He possesses an energy and vitality that you can’t help but admire; I am sure it is these traits that served him so well as he secured himself handouts and made the rounds in the neighborhood that served as his home. I can’t fathom why anyone would EVER relinquish custody of such a charismatic cat as Poconose! And did I mention his nose? Have you seen it? How striking and intriguing it is, like a pink little pig-snout perhaps. I just couldn't ignore such a perfect proboscis, but instead chose to capitalize on it and make his name as unique as he is! He is the complete package—tantalizing good looks and sunny disposition, paired with a exuberance that oozes out of every inch of his 13# being! Feleuk be damned—we will not let his viral status stand in his way of landing himself a home of his own!
