Meet IGNATIUS
When Terrie Robbie befriended this most handsome hunk of a cat (he was born in 2005), she thought she would be able to place him easily enough on her own, as he was one friendly ball of fur! But, when he tested positive for FIV, rehoming became elusive and she found she had nowhere to turn...until she found us on Petfinder! At that time our head-count was at full capacity so we had to delay his intake for a bit, which in turn gave Terrie the time she needed to get him all set and ready to come into our program; neutered, vaccinated and socialized - though he didn't need much work in that department!
Upon arrival on May 14th, 2010, Ignatius happily hopped out of his carrier and right into his intake cage, where he was free to come and go as he pleased. Within a few days, he was not only out of the cage, but laying at the foot of it, door open, guarding it from anyone else taking over - too funny! Also comical to me is that Iggy here was often mistaken for a girl, given how gorgeous and kinda foofy he is:) His tail alone is quite a sight of perfected plumage, but when you get to take in the full picture, the gloriousness that is Ignatius, I guess it is easy to see how one may get gender confused.
Some 6 years later, when I asked our volunteers for updated info to include in his new and improved bio (in hopes of getting him adopted!) two of his adoring fans had this to say about him:
“The first thing you are impressed with about Ignatius is his overall cat beauty. He could do cat commercials or educational documentaries on what a cat should look like. His big, big eyes, perfect white paws, and lovely tabby coat are the whole package., though his personality is jut as big! He always greets me with his raspy voice and a few head butts. He seems happy to receive a few stokes or to be picked up and carried around. He isn’t super active so would make a great addition to a quiet home - and he would look great on any couch!”
“Iggy is everywhere when there’s wet food to be found. He makes his presence known voicing his croaking “purr” demanding to be fed repeatedly while flashing those beautiful big eyes. He’s a lovable guy who is very social with cats and volunteers alike…..always in the forefront.”
Well gang, with praises like this for our senior sweetie, don’t you think it is about time to get up off the sofa, saunter on down to Sid’s and scoop of Ignatius for once and for all?
