JEAN-CLAWED Domestic Short Hair Grand Rapids, MI

I adore this cat! As banged up as he came in to me on June 14th, 2011, originally a TNR cat through Focus on Ferals, I took one look into those eyes and I knew he was something special! Probably one helluva 'street fighter' Jean-Clawed is ruggedly handsome, sporting some serious lesions and battle wounds. Just like his namesake, he is tough on the outside and gentle on the inside, though it took him a few days to realize that my hand offered affection and not abuse. The ear tip was acquired when he was neutered through the TNR plan, but the other scars and scrapes he proudly acquired himself over years of living on the city streets.

Born in December of 2008 I guesstimate, I don't think this cat knew the creature comforts of a plush bed, let alone an indoor shelter; he seemed utterly thrilled to the gills when we gave him a huge cage of his own to get acclimated in, then decided after a bit that he wanted to be out and about socializing. Once his hormones settled down and he settled in at Big Sid’s, his exterior shell cracked, the lap-cat within springing forward and making himself known! He did have some rather naughty times where he still felt he needed to be the big man on campus, but over time he learned to accept and actually fancy his fellow housemates, and now you would think he had lived here his entire life.


Since he only picked up FIV while out on his own and is no longer a master of martial arts, Jean-Clawed makes a fabulously wonderful adoption candidate, so consider him when perusing our site for wonderful cats to take home and make your own! He is an avid head-butter and is quite good and giving you kisses on the nose. He will follow you around like a little puppy-dog, waiting for you to stop your work and scratch his head. In short, he loves to be loved—and isn’t that what life is all about?
