Arrival story: Waggin' Tails stepped in to give this senior girl a safe, warm home when she needed it. She was previously used as a breeder dog and then sold to be a guard dog. Her job should have been to be a companion all along, so we owe it to Bailey to find her some worthy companions.

Approximate Age / Weight: 9 - 10 years young / 120 lbs.

Personality: Bailey is an absolute sweetheart! She is house trained, good on a leash, and very quiet. Her favorite activities are napping, eating, going for a walk, and snuggling up to her humans - not necessarily in that order, but all of the above.

As a big girl, she doesn't need a lot of exercise. Naps are on her daily to-do list. However, Bailey has just discovered how awesome Nylabones are! Our girl is good on car rides and at the vet’s office, and despite her rough start in life, she is in good health and a happy dog.

Forever home: We are looking for a home either with calm dogs or without other dogs. Bailey is fine other dogs, but she does not interact with them. She ignores them entirely as humans are her whole world. No cat pals for Bailey! She has shown too much interest in the resident cat in her foster home.

Bailey loves hanging out with kids, though with her size she could easily knock over little ones. Someone who is home most of the time and enjoys long walks would be ideal.

English Mastiffs are known for their gentle and loving nature. They can be stubborn (it may take her a while to get out of the car but treats always work). The average life span is 10-12 years, and Bailey is probably around the 10-year mark now, but she is in excellent health and our vets could not believe her age based on her physical health.

If you are a gentle soul looking for a kindred spirit, then Bailey is the dog for you. She would be a loyal companion and greet you with her goofy happy dance and smile when you get home.
