Oscar Alaskan Malamute Berryville, VA

Oscar is a handsome senior boy about 12 years old. Sadly he was turned into a kill shelter when diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy. This is a steadily progressive degeneration of the spinal cord, causing weakness, but no pain. There is nothing that can be done to prevent the progression of the disease and eventually Oscar will be unable to use his back legs. Having said that, Oscar, at this time, is quite mobile and can still easily get around.

Oscar does not do well with other pets. He would need to be the only pet in the household.

We would love for Oscar to be fostered, or better yet adopted, for his remaining time. This could be 6 months, or a few years. A soft bed to lie on and people to love him ... it's what Oscar deserves.

He or she is healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, and heartworm negative. CHAAMP IS NOT A SHELTER.
