Brodey Weimaraner Toledo, OH

Hello there! My name is Brodey and I am an absolutely adorable, incredibly well-behaved, blue, 7-year-old male Weim. My recall is amazing, I rarely bark, unless my foster brother starts it. I walk great on a leash. I am a large, muscular, strong boy with a strong attachment to my blanket. In fact, I carry it around when I am excited. My foster dad loves that his floors are always getting cleaned. I gnaw on my blanket at times but I never shred it. It is my comfort blanket and it will have to come with me when I find my forever home!

My foster dad says I have no issues whatsoever. I have even lost around 20 pounds since living here so now I am in great shape. While I am fine with other dogs in the house, I would be best suited as an only dog because I really do not like to play (unless it involves tug-of-war with my blanket) and most other dogs want me to, which makes me a little irritated. I also do not like cats, they are not a creature I would want to share a home with. But I absolutely love men. When my foster dad is gone, I follow my foster grandfather around like a shadow. I am very, very loyal and loving.

Do not get me wrong, I like women too but I certainly have an affinity to men. Please don’t forget that although my recall is very good, I am a hunting dog and I do have a prey instinct. That means that I do need a fenced yard, otherwise I will chase anything I consider prey.

Like my foster dad says, I am a very well-behaved boy, but it does take me a while to warm up to strangers. But I can assure you that once I have decided you are my Master, I will be by your side every waking moment of my day. I am very loyal and will be your shadow. When I snuggle it has to be on my terms. I will snarl if you try to grab me without me wanting to be grabbed. If I feel aggravated I will separate myself from everyone and gnaw my blanket for a while until my anxiety subsides. Then I will come back for more snuggles.

I really am (in my foster dad’s opinion……and I tend to agree with him) a wonderful boy that needs a loving, secure, forever home that I can finally consider to be my place. Oh, and by the way, I am 100 percent house broken and in the last few months I have been with my foster family, I have not had a single accident in the house. I can be left alone for up to eight hours unattended. But I do counter surf. My foster dad does not know if I am crate trained because I am such a good boy I have never had to go in one and I do not seem to suffer from separation anxiety.

I would love to be your Xmas present this year.

I walk great on a leash, and in fact, I could probably walk by your side without a leash in areas where the law allows it. My foster dad says he is going to miss me when I find my forever home because I am an amazing boy!
