Arrival story: Kenzie landed in a local animal control facility as a stray, where staff reached out to Waggin' Tails to help find this sweet, well-behaved girl a great home.
Approximate age / weight: Approx. 3 years old / 45 lbs.
Personality:Kenzie is an absolute doll! She's people oriented, and very affectionate. She also enjoys playing with the resident dogs at her foster home. She's very good with them, and responsive to their signals. Her play style with other dogs is not overly rough, but there is some jumping and pouncing. One of the resident dogs let her know he didn't enjoy that, and she hasn't bothered him since. All in all, though, she prefers to be with her people, and will quickly leave a play session to join them when they go inside.

Kenzie is clearly used to living in a house, and has great house manners - no climbing on the furniture until invited, no counter surfing or trash mining, and she hasn't had any accidents in her foster home. She doesn't appear to have been crate trained, but she adjusted quickly to being crated overnight (more for her foster mom's peace of mind than any real need - she's not at all destructive in the house). She's not generally vocal, but she will whine or sing a soft, mournful "woo-wooo" for a few minutes when separated from her people, either by being crated or put in a separate room.

Forever home:Kenzie would do well in a variety of homes - she's young, and has plenty of energy for playing, but is calm and quiet in the house. She likes to wrestle with people, and occasionally gets excited enough to jump, so she might not be the best playmate for toddlers.

Contact:Please contact kareng@webfaerie.com if you’re interested in adopting Kenzie!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
