Arrival story: Chance was lucky enough to be running amok in the neighborhood that one of our volunteers travels through on her way to work. She saw a stray that needed help, stopped, opened her car door, and Chance took his, well… second chance!

Approximate Age / Weight: 2 years old / 70 lbs.

Personality: Chance can be described as nothing other than a big lovable meathead! He loves belly rubs and to give kisses and loves human attention. Chance got through heartworm and mange treatment like a champ. He needs work on his manners, but despite all that he’s been through, he is a good boy at the vet's office and has been friendly with everyone he meets. This goofball can be rambunctious, like a puppy who doesn’t know his own size. Chance is mouthy taking treats from human hands, but we are working on that. However, he is pretty good at catching treats as an alternative! Chance otherwise has no issues with food.

Chance attends doggy daycare and enjoys playing with his friends. He is just learning basic commands but is smart and willing to learn. Stay tuned for more updates on this boy with the sweetest facial expression.

Forever home: Chance would like a home with interactive pet parents who enjoy lots of love and contact from a dog. He is very affectionate! Since Chance doesn’t yet realize his size and is learning manners, a home with older kids or adults only is ideal.

Contact: Please contact wtdr2008@yahoo.com if you’re interested in adopting Chance!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
