Chester is a sweet dog who gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is currently living in a foster home and is learning all about the ins and outs of going in and out to use the bathroom. He's learning quickly and hoping that will help him find a family of his very own. He came in with some skin issues, so he is getting regular baths and with a change to quality food we are hopeful things will improve quickly for him. He has a mast cell tumor. He is having X-rays done now and we will be consulting with the oncologist again. The oncologist today said there may be a positive side since it is underneath his skin and not a typical mast cell tumor. The vet was able to get good margins of his X-rays showing everything else is clear. Chester is a really fantastic little dog, who is good with everyone and everything. We will be looking for a very special home for him, willing to help him in this very unsure time.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate, bordetella, heartworm test and preventative if age appropriate and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. It also includes a new family member starter kit, a small transitional bag of the food they have been on, and some special items they may have grown attached to in their foster home. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
