Meet EVEREST

Arrival story: Mama Amelia (an all-black, 55lb Shepherd mix with pointy snout and cute floppy, fold-over ears, was rescued from the streets (very pregnant) on a cold and snowy day in February 2015. She gave birth to 10 healthy pups shortly thereafter. Everest is one of those pups. Dad is unknown.

Approximate Age / Weight: 5 months old as of July 20, 2015 / 26 lbs.

Everest (named after explorer George Everest) is fun, easy-going, and a little more brave and adventurous than his brother Raleigh. He enjoys the company of people and playing with other dogs (pups and adult dogs). He does well in a crate, sleeps through the night and mostly housebroken. He is working on his leash skills. Everest is good riding in the car and at the vet’s office.

Forever home: Puppies are cute, cuddly and full of affection but please consider all of the time, effort, and money that a puppy requires to become a well-adjusted, adult dog companion before deciding to add a puppy to your family - potty-training, chewing, etc.

Contact: Please contact wtdr2008@yahoo.com if you’re interested in adopting pup Everest

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
