We LOVE RUFUS!! What a great dog!! Rufus is quite the, uhhh, doofus! ...sorry... just had to! But he is! Rufus is a silly, vivacious, happy dog! He's crazy about water, and sprinklers, and running and playing! Fair warning, though, when Rufus first meets some people, he is timid and will often back away for a better view. Kinda like he’s sizing up the whole picture. He wants to know he can trust you and you won't scare him. So slow introductions to new people are a must. But once you've met his approval, go have fun!! And every time you come into the room, he acts like you're his best friend EVER, and when can the games begin?! And now that you’re his BFF, he has gotten into the habit of jumping on you and running off! I think he’s playing “Tag”, and you’re always “IT”! But he’s getting better at not showing off his excitement in such a way! And all the other dogs think Rufus is da-bomb! The action starts, and next thing they know, everyone is speeding around and following in his lead! Pretty funny to watch this pack of smiling, panting dogs running in circles, following Rufus, and not quite sure what they’re supposed to be doing! But they’re all having fun! Rufus came from another shelter in WA, and they tried their very best to find him a forever home, but sometimes ya just need a fresh start! So, welcome to The Gorge, buddy! There's plenty of water and outside activities to keep Rufus smiling! Rufus needs a patient home where he'll get lots of regular exercise and more training. And he needs someone to take it a little slow with him at first..ya know... first get to know him before you go crazy and expect too much from a dog that isn’t sure about new things. That smile never leaves his face and he promises to keep you grinning, too! Rufus is current on shots, microchipped and neutered. The adoption fee for happy guy, Rufus, is $195. The fee to adopt is charged to recoup standard veterinary expenses.
