Meet Zipper

Hi Everyone! Zipper here! My dream forever home needs to have at least one person that will let me give them kisses and would like to cuddle with me. This home also needs to be an active home that has had experience with my breed and can provide me with plenty of exercise and athletic activities. I am a 2-and-1/2 year old neutered male Border Collie mix and I have a current rabies vaccination certificate. My coat is long, plush, and very soft which is perfect for snuggling and brushing and being petted. I even roll over on my back for belly rubs and more scratching. If you sit on the floor you will soon find me either on your lap, or climbing my front legs up onto your lap in order to get as close to you as possible. I am a lover, that's for sure, and my family means a great deal to me. You will enjoy taking me for long walks because I am such a happy dog, and quite polite on leash. I like to play, and my favorite trick is to see how high I can jump. As a matter of fact, the shelter keeps me in a covered kennel because they are afraid that I might be able to jump right over the gate. I do need a home without small children as my herding instincts are VERY strong and I have not had formal obedience training - which, by the way is a requirement of my adoption and I can't wait to get started! I am sure that I will be a great student and will make you very proud of me because I am extremely smart, I have great eye-contact, and I love to learn - especially if there are treats involved. For me, the key to being content and forever happy is receiving a lot of exercise and having a sense of purpose. I have great potential for being fantastic at agility, herding, rally, flyball, and perhaps even advanced or Frisbee obedience. I am currently enjoying time in a foster home, or in another area of the building, but I am very anxious to meet you! For more information or to set up a time to meet me, simply call the shelter at (715) 839-4747 ext. 21, or speak with the front desk staff.
