Whisper Husky & Siberian Husky Mix Berryville, VA

Poor Whisper! She was found by some hunters when the chain she was dragging got entangled in a briar patch. Underweight, dehydrated and anemic, CHAAMP picked Whisper up from a kill shelter and brought her immediately to the vet. After a consultation with a cardiologist, it's been determined Whisper has a heart murmur from a valve that is not closing completely. The vet estimates Whisper to be about 8-10 years old. Eventually she will need to go on high blood pressure medication which can run $20-50 per month. Thankfully, Whisper does not have any activity restrictions, and the rest of her heart is in very good shape.

While she does well with other dogs, our preference is to place her with a male dog that is mellow and perhaps smaller in size than Whisper. She should not have a larger dog jumping on her or a younger dog rough-housing relentlessly. At her foster home, Whisper currently lives with an adult male German Shepherd who is calm and very well behaved. Typical northern breed, Whisper is an active, happy girl and enjoys leisurely walks.

Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and cannot be visited until you have been approved for adoption. THERE IS AN ADOPTION FEE OF $250 for this dog. He or she is healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, and heartworm negative. CHAAMP IS NOT A SHELTER.
