REDD HERO has had it rough so far in his short little life. Just over a month ago REDD was struck by a truck in a community up North. He was taken to the shelter in Yellowknife and was rushed to the vet. Sadly, his leg was so severely broken, amputation was the only option. REDD is doing well now but shortly after the surgery it was discovered he was allergic to the suture material which made healing difficult. Great Slave Animal Hospital resorted to an old method of healing and preventing infection with hydro-therapy treatment. REDD is an amazing dog with a STRONG will to live. He warms your heart inside and out :)
We are looking for a home with little to no stairs and REDD would love a secure yard to play fetch in. REDD is starting his swimming sessions with K9H2O in Abbotsford next week to help strengthen and condition his body and limbs. He is getting around just fine but we wanted to go that extra mile for this amazing dog. REDD will be a med size dog (45 to 50 pounds) when full-grown. He is great with other dogs and people. A home with kids over 8 years old is preferred.
REDD will be available for adoption once he is neutered which won't be until March 2015. He will be placed on a foster contract until then.
