Arrival story: Discovered running the streets in Detroit it took great teamwork to catch this girl but once caught she knew she was safe and warmed right up to us.

Approximate age / Weight: almost 1 year old / 25 lbs.

Personality: Lady is a little lovebug! She is just all black with a hint of brown highlights when the light hits her coat just right and she has just a hint of white on her back toes which happen to have hind dewclaws. She has the most expressive ears, too! Lady is smart and takes treats gently and makes good eye contact. She also seeks out people and will turn her whole body into you for a good lean in hopes that you’ll give her some attention. She is still figuring out what toys are. Lady is quick and agile and would love if her future home would provide some activities like agility and other interactive games.

Lady plays with her pal, Rooster the Coonhound. She can be a little rough and feisty in play but is easily re-directed if needed, and shakes it off. Lady was great at the vet’s office and rides in the car well.

Forever home: We think that Lady could fit into many situations. She would make a great companion for someone who wants a playmate to take on walks/hikes and play with inside and out of the home.

Contact: Please contact wtdr2008@yahoo.com if you’re interested in adopting Lady!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
