Ursa German Shepherd Dog Chesterfield, MO

Meet Ursa! Ursa is an absolutely stunning 2 year old female sable. She was recently spayed. She was friendly with our volunteer that met her. She has good obedience including heel, sit, stay. Her mom thinks she would do best in a home with male dogs. We have not yet tested her with small dogs. She also recommends children over 5. Ursa is very energetic so her new family will need to exercise her on a regular basis and continue obedience training. Note that Ursa's X-ray showed some mild hip displasia but she requires no medications and has a normal activity level.

Ursa's foster home wrote the following about her:
Ursa is a great girl. She is still young and acts like a puppy. She likes to chew on a nylabone and hang out watching TV. Ursa would like to find a home where she is the only dog or a home with a large male. Some other dogs are ok but it depends on their size and activity level. Ursa has hip displaysia but you would not know it by looking at her. She loves to swim and go on walks. Ursa likes to jump on the couch and watch TV or sleep on the bed.

Ursa has basic obedience and is house trained. Ursa is also crate trained and she will sometimes go and get in her crate and chew on a bone. We just leave her crate door open and she is able to decide. Ursa will make someone a great pet! All of the hard work has already been put into training this dog.

She would love a large yard to play in but is just as happy being indoors. Ursa would prefer a family with older children or no children. She gets excited easily and might accidently knock over a smaller child. Ursa does great with children around 6 years or older. Ursa can’t wait to meet her new family!
