Magnus German Shepherd Dog Chesterfield, MO

Magnus is a wonderful dog who is friendly with everyone. He gets along great with our other 2 dogs, and loves sleeping next them at night. He also does great with our cat. Magnus has lost weight with the help of his medicine for under active thyroid and will need to be on this medicine for the rest of his life. Magnus loves to run around outside with our other dogs and enjoys rolling around in the snow. He also loves to sleep and usually naps near his humans and basically follows us around the house wherever we go. It took him awhile to warm up to us, but now has bonded very strongly which he will probably due with his forever family. Magnus enjoys short walks( he has the best leash manners ever ) and a tiny bit of jogging, and will come inside and crash right after. Other than that he looks like GSD, he acts like a big lug...not hyper, no ball drive whatsoever. When let out to go to the bathroom, he stays in the yard and won't leave. However he does love a good romp in the yard with humans or dogs. We have tried everything to get him to go down a set of stairs and he just won't do it. I have tried coaxing him with treats, having everyone go downstairs and hoping he wants to join us, but he is very fearful. I don't want to put a leash on him and try to pull him down because that would just be the worse thing I could do and make his fear worse. He would do best in a home that has no steps or at the least a first floor master. He loves to sleep beside his humans, he feels better that way. The only part of him that is GSD :) is he barks when someone knocks on the door, although in reality, he wouldn't hurt a fly. He is an all around amazing fella. He is completely house trained.ures out if the resident cat in his new foster home is friend or foe (or toy).
