Jose (declawed ) Domestic Short Hair Eau Claire, WI

Hello, my name is Jose. My previous owners moved into a no pet residence, and so I am now homeless. I am 6 years old and a neutered and declawed male. The shelter is certainly not my favorite place to be since I am a cautious girl that likes to take things slowly, but I am doing my best to be brave until the perfect household falls in love with me. I would prefer a quiet home, but one with gentle, older children would be fine too. Once I have had a few minutes to get to know you it will be obvious that I am a mellow boy looking for a new place to play, snack, and snooze. I do well with other cats, but will need a household without dogs, although I might be able to tolerate a small and gentle cat loving dog. With young children and strangers, I am shy at first until I have had time to get to know them better, and then I am fine with them. I prefer to sit near you for grooming and cuddle time. I love attention, but like most large cats, I do not like to be carried around. The chaos of shelter life is difficult for me, so it is hard to show you how wonderful I am in a home, but know that I am mellow and very friendly with the members of my family. I like to play with toys, and my favorite ones are wand-toys or chasing after catnip toys that you throw for me. I am talkative, and if you are having a busy day, I am happy to just enjoy looking out of a window to see what might be scampering about.
