Meet Duke- URGENT
Duke has been in a foster home but the foster has to bring him back to the shelter due to some unexpected travel that has to take place in November and December. Since the shelter is pretty full, it is Urgent that Duke find a home soon or another foster home.
Duke was rescued from a local shelter. He was found in someone's back yard and was very frightened when he first came. It took him a couple of days to trust people - at first he would not even eat and the volunteers had to hand feed him but after he got over his fears, he was fine.
Duke is about 1-2 years of age according to the vet. He has had all of his shots and has been heartworm tested and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered as well. He is crate trained. He weighs about 52 lbs. He is a very sweet boy and is the type of dog who will bond to someone very quickly. He is a little nervous with loud noises and fast movements so he would do best in a home with no small children. Children over 12 years old would be okay. His foster dad is starting to jog with him which he likes. He has been staying in a crate when his foster dad is out as a precaution and he is getting used to that as well. He walks great on a leash - does not pull and enjoys going for car rides. He seems fine with other dogs but would have to be cat tested. A nice fenced in yard would be great for Duke.
