Arrival story: Zappa’s family reached out to us to help find a family better suited to his needs as a smart and active dog.

Approximate age / Weight: 3 years old / 60 lbs.

Personality: Zappa is a friendly, outgoing fella who enjoys making new friends, human and canine alike. He has lived with an infant and was good with the baby. He enjoys his time interacting with family. Zappa wants to have fun! He loves enjoys a good game of fetch, socializing and even training. He thrives on structure and routine and learning new things. He would excel at activities like agility and canine nose work. Zappa is a fast learner!

Zappa is crate-trained and house-trained. Like many dogs, he can exhibit some signs of anxiety if he does not have an outlet for his energy so walks and playtime in the backyard are necessary for Zappa. Like many dogs of his breed, he can be a bit mouthy when overly excited but can easily be redirected into a sit or other preferred behavior.

Forever home: Zappa would enjoy an a home where physical activity was a regular part of his life with his new family/person. Ideally a good fit might include a runner, hiker, or otherwise outdoorsy type and another dog. Zappa enjoys his together time with his humans.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
