Scheuller Hound Mix Hopkinton, MA

Scheuller is a great buddy to all the dogs he meets and LOVES to play. This handsome boy looks forward to long walks in the woods and sweet little belly rubs from his human pals. He walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and is eager to please. He is a little shy when he first meets someone, but when he warms up, he'll be your best friend.

Scheuller has been through a lot in his short life. He was flown here from Miami after spending many months in a shelter that took dogs in but had little means to adopt them out. When the shelter closed, he traveled more than 1,200 miles to Baypath Humane Society to get a chance at finding his forever home.

It was an interesting journey -- During the flight, his kennel door was not secure and he wandered upfront, placing his head on the pilot's lap. The startled pilot could not resist his sweet brown eyes, and decided to let him stay. Scheuller calmly hung out in the cockpit for the rest of the trip.

This quiet charmer has made many friends at the shelter but he needs a home to call his own. We think he’d be happy living with other dogs but would do best in a home with no small children and no cats. His tough start in life has made him nervous around men at times. Love and patience will do much to help him be more comfortable. Scheuller is just waiting for the right person to welcome him into their family and show him that life actually can be really good.
