Tippy (declawed) Domestic Short Hair Eau Claire, WI

Tippy was surrendered to the shelter along with her brother Fletcher on 7/11/14 because a household member was allergic to cats. She is a 5 year old female and her front paws have been declawed. Tippy is a mellow girl that LOVES spending time on your lap, and melts into all of the scratching and petting that you have time to offer her, and she is sure to thank you with a lovely purr of approval. She also enjoys being petted and scratched when she cuddles up beside you as you watch TV or read a good book. As much as Tippy loves attention, she does NOT care to be held in your arms at all, and is good about letting you know that with a vocal meow of disapproval. She can be a little shy around children at first and has been known to hide in order to observe them for a while, but warms up quickly once she has had some time to get to know them better. She is friendly with strangers and also does well with other felines. Tippy has a loving and independent personality that allows her to entertain herself well if you are having a busy day. Her favorite toys are ones that have feathers, so you may want to make sure that you have a few of those around the house. These two cats are not a bonded pair, but if you would like to adopt her brother Fletcher as well in order to keep these siblings together, the shelter does offer a "companion cat crusade" program that allows you to adopt a second cat for half of the original adoption fee.
