Arrival story: We found Peppermint Patty at a rural shelter. She was found as a stray and no one ever came looking for her. The shelter was over crowded so we sprung Patty and she has been with a foster family ever since.

Personality: This sweet girl is a happy pup, who has a great time playing with her foster canine siblings. She can run as fast and keep up with two larger dogs. She puts just as much energy into snuggling on the sofa, bed, or anywhere that is soft and there is a human or canine to curl up next to. Sometimes she just likes to sit outside and enjoy the sun.

Patty has recently figured out that treats are used to reinforce good behavior and is learning hand signals for sit and wait. She has a hankering for socks. Any kind of socks will do, a good leave-it command is starting to work.

When Patty comes out of her crate in the morning she stretches, reaches up on her foster mom's leg and lets out a soft, pitiful whimper that melts hearts every time, not to mention her big beautiful beagle eyes.

Forever home: Sweet Patty would do great with a forever family with or without other canines. She likes car rides, walks, and just spending time with her family. If you're looking for a loving companion and walking buddy, Patty just may be the one for you!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
