Jake Bichon Frise & Poodle Mix Orange, CA

Jake is a 4 year-old little Bichon-mix (only 9 lbs!) who loves to sit in your lap. He gets along very well with other dogs, but will chase and bark at cats. He would do best in a quiet household with someone home most of the day, as he does not like to be left home alone.

Jake had back surgery in June 2013 and has fully recovered, but his doctor recommends that he be carried up and down stairs, so a gate is a necessity in a house with stairs. He is very energetic and needs regular exercise, but once in a while he overdoes it and his back bothers him a little (he has pain meds for this).
He is also on a special diet because he has some tummy troubles ... nervous stomach. He was checked out by a specialist who confirmed there is nothing more serious and the special diet will control it. Jake's foster family currently has health insurance for him, and is happy to continue paying the insurance premiums for the rest of his life.

Jake is very smart and understands several commands. He is completely potty-trained and will stand by the back door when he needs to go out. At night, he will sleep in his doggie bed, as long as the doggie bed is on the human bed. If he gets cold he will expect you to let him under the covers to snuggle.

Jake is a very special little guy who captures the heart of everyone he meets. He is looking for that special home that has a lot of love to share and who can give Jake the love and attention he so deserves. You will get loved back 10x over!
