Tugg Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix Columbia, IL

Tugg is a magnificent beauty but that is nothing compared to his huge loving heart. This big guy wants only to be by his people (currently his foster parents) and is an easy, happy-go-lucky guy around the house. The ideal environment for Tugg is a quiet one without a lot of traffic in and out of the house, a securely fenced back yard, and with older or no children. Tugg is great with kids; but kids also tend to leave doors and gates open and bring strangers into the home quickly. Tugg does require a slow introduction to new people; he has trust issues and needs to know he is safe before he warms up to a stranger. Tugg is completely housebroken and trustworthy in the house; no chewing issues or problems at all and he does not need to be crated in his foster home. He really just wants to be a couch potato and hang out near his family. Tugg plays well with some dogs in his foster home (though he would rather play with his humans and when outside is always found waiting patiently at the door to come back inside) and other dogs, not so well. Cats are another story, they make him quite agitated; he definitely needs a cat-free home for the safety of the cats. Tugg is a complex guy (like many of us!) who is a joy to live with.
