BARNEY Corgi & Basset Hound Mix Franklin, TN

Barney, corgi mix, is an all-around awesome dog that is not hyper but calm and easy going. He is a perfect size at just 32 lbs, and very calm at between 1-2 years old. We rescued this handsome guy from a high kill pound in middle Tennessee after he had been there 2 weeks and was soon due to be euthanized. Barney is so special that an employee there told us he was a truly good dog that needed to be saved and not left there to die with all the rest. Well we decided to take a chance and have not been sorry. Barney loves everyone. He spent a day at PetSmart recently for an adoption event and was a big hit. Being around multiple dogs and people did not bother him at all. He greeted everyone with a calm tail wag and attitude. He loved them all; adults, children and canines. In his foster home, Barney was walking on a leash beautifully after only a few tries. When he comes in the house, he has very nice manners and has not had any accidents. He does fine in his crate. We have not seen him around cats, so not sure about those. But our opinion from what we have seen about him is that he will try to make friends with them as well! Barney is a mixed breed who appears to have some Corgi and Basset Hound in his background. All we know for sure is that he is a calm, laid back boy who loves to be around people.
