Meet Maxine
Meet Maxine! Maxine is a sweet, snuggly, adorable girl with a very unique blue/champagne coloring. At 4 years old she is pretty laid back and loves to lounge on the couch but still loves to get super silly doing her cute playbows and playing chase. She has a very cuddly personality and absolutely loves to curl up on your lap or roll over for a belly rub. She makes sure to return the love with lots of sweet kisses! She could potentially pair with a laid back male canine, but she is good with cats. She does great with children of all ages but, we are looking for a home with older children or no children because of her medical condition.
We recently discovered that Maxine has Spondylosis. A chronic condition of the spine with the formation of bone spurs between vertebrae that cause the pain. There's no cure and she is already noted at a "severe stage" at such a young age with multiple spots along her spine and there is a chance it will continue to get worse. She also has slight lumbar vertebrae fusion between 2 verts also adding to the discomfort and pain. She is now on a daily pain pill and rest/easy walks until we can get some pain management under control with laser therapy. They say that laser therapy and inflammatory/pain pills are forever in her future, which includes needing necessary blood work every 6 months to check the liver/kidneys. Future laser treatments can be anywhere from every few days, to weekly, to monthly depending on her pain.
