Sookie Rat Terrier Mix Eau Claire, WI

Hi, my name is Sookie and I am a 3 year old spayed female Rat Terrier. I am looking for a home without cats because I do have a tendency to chase anything little that moves. I am fairly timid and shy upon meeting new people, but give me a few minutes to warm up to you and enjoy the wiggly and happy me! Have you noticed my cute freckles? Everyone here thinks they are just a hoot. You will enjoy taking me for walks because I am energetic and alert to everything that is happening around me. I was originally brought to the shelter as a stray way back on 3/04/14. I remember being really scared, but before you knew it I was entertaining the staff with my athletic ability to climb the snow-banks all the way to the top. In July I was adopted, but once again had a hard time adjusting to my new environment and they thought that I wasn't happy and returned me to the shelter after 5 days. I do have to admit that my shy side (which doesn't like to rush into new things too fast) was showing, and since I felt most safe in my kennel, that is where I spent most of my time. The humans were nice to me and discovered that I am crate-trained, housebroken, and that I know sit and down. Due to my shyness I would do best in a home without children. I do like some other dogs, but I am a bit picky about who my dog friends are, so if you already have a canine in your household or plan on having multiple dogs in the future I will need to meet them first. I am a lively little tail-wager in need of a household that is familiar with my breed and will be patient with me. To meet me is to love me, so please stop over soon to see what a great dog I really am. Everyone here really loves me a lot, but I would much rather have a home and family to call my own.
