Arrival story: I had a home but my bubbly and exuberant personality was too much for parents to handle along with their very young children. So, here I am looking for a great new family.

Approximate age / Weight: 1 year / 60 lbs

Personality: Everyone who meets me smiles and says how handsome and friendly I am. I am very smart and would enjoy going to training class so we can create an awesome bond and learn how to be a great team. While very strong and agile, right now I am a bit on the pudgy side. I am treat-motivated.

I have decent house manners and I am a happy-go-lucky fella. I enjoy cuddling and I even nodded off in the arms of a volunteer at my first adoption event. It’s true – everyone says to me, “aww, what a nice dog.” I love attention and to be petted and even held. Am I too big to be a lap dog? I would definitely enjoy a canine playmate or going to doggy daycare. I have excellent canine-to-canine skills and find a lot of joy hanging with my furry friends.

I am very good in the car and at the vet’s office. The girls at the vet’s office sure did appreciate that I was such a good boy for my nail trim! I do jump up on people but I am working on containing my excitement when meeting people or asking them to play.

Forever home: I would like a person who promises to teach me the things all good dogs know, in a kind and gentle manner. I would enjoy going to training class with you and have a yard to romp in or go for long walks. I am a bit too pouncy at this point in time to live with young kids. I could easily knock a little one over.

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
