Ethan (Siku) Husky Mix Fairbanks, AK

Update, 7/1/2016: Siku is back in SCl foster care. His adoptive family was unable to care for him and luckily they called for help. He is back at his original foster home. He is in a bit of rough shape. His coat is patchy with demodectic mange often caused by stress on the immune system. This poor guy had a hard time at his adoptive home and is now under treatment. He will bounce back as dogs are so resilient. But he really deserves that forever home for the last golden years of his life that will love him and take care of him.

Ethan (now Siku) is a 9 year old distance sled dog that finished many races including the Kobuk 440. His former owner became very concerned for him when Ethan (now Siku) starting having seizures in extremely cold weather. So he ended up at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter. He got a full workup at a vet and his bloodwork is great. He did have a lot of bad teeth though, and seven of them were pulled.

He is loving his new life at his foster parents house. He gets to live inside with three other dogs that he gets along great with. He made his debut skijoring at the last skijor race and his foster mom continues to work on his skijoring skills.

Siku is a wonderful older dog that is transitioning to a pet with ease.
