Meet Delilah
Delilah is a 5 year old Coonhound / Rottweiler mix weighing 65 lbs. She was rescued from a rural Ohio kill shelter where she was at-risk in spite of completing obedience training in an Ohio Correctional Facility. She just sat in the shelter for much too long due to no fault of her own. Delilah has retained a tremendous amount of her obedience training and is incredibly obedient on and off a leash. With
the right handler who is willing to take her to more training, she has the goods to move on to acquire her Good Canine Citizenship or even to become part of a therapy team. Delilah is a one of a kind - "people's" dog forming deep connections with her humans and she is very loyal and loving. While she seems to have the personality of a human, she may need a little help adjusting to other pets in the home. Delilah can co-exist very successfully with other pets as she is in a foster home with 6 dogs and one cat. However, she does need proper introductions, space and boundaries in the beginning before she can reach such harmony. That being said, she is usually the best behaved dog in the crowd at adoption events where many dogs invade her space. She loves walks and going for rides. Delilah will always be waiting for you and want to be near you but responds very well to her crate or baby-gated boundaries. She waits for permission to get on the furniture, loves blankets, knows many commands, and will keep your lap warm by resting her head on your leg while you work at your computer or watch TV.
Delilah just loves humans and she lights up at events when an adult or adolescent wants to take her for a walk. She has good manners and she is waiting patiently for someone to love her forever. Delilah will return love and loyalty in abundance.
Delilah is a low maintenance dog who would make a great "first" dog. She is well suited to any type of family or single owner.
Delilah's adoption fee is $230. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.
