ADOPTED! Yogi is a wonderful retired racer who is easy going, laid back, happy go lucky and ever so gentle. He is also an extremely handsome tuxedo dog (black with white markings) who will draw attention for his striking colors and good looks-- Not only that, but his call name is just so cute and really fits him. Yogi gets along with other greyhounds, and paid no attention at all to the cat when we introduced them. He should do well in a home with cats. We are checking to see how he will be with small dogs and will have an update on that very soon. Yogi would also do fine in a home with polite children who will treat him gently. He is currently living in a foster home with children and as an only dog. Additionally, because of his calm and gentle yet friendly and social nature, he will make a really nice therapy dog to go to hospitals, schools, and assisted living facilities.. Some other interesting facts about Yogi: He is fascinated, but not afraid of ceiling fans. He also likes to wag his tail when he eats. Yogi likes to go for motor trips and enjoys going places, so he would be a good choice if you like to take your pets for yappy hours or on vacation. Yogi was a very good racer. He competed on the track from January 2011 until June 2013 and competed in 171 races,winning 25 and placing in 25. He raced mostly at Palm Beach and the Mardi Gras track in Hallandale Beach. Yogi is quickly adapting to home life and is a real sweetheart! His grand mom was a dog named Our Daisy Girl;, who was a beautiful white and black greyhound who we placed in a wonderful home as a pet several years ago.
Yogi's $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, teeth cleaning, all vaccines, Bordetella (to protect against kennel cough), microchip, leash and collar, adoption guide, and BAGA tag. Your adoption fee helps us to defray some of the veterinary and care costs we have incurred for Yogi, and will help us to continue our work on behalf of the greyhounds.
