Rosie Hound Mix Rocky Mount, VA

Hello there! My name is Rosie or Rooowowowowowowsie 'cause I'm a hound dog! Well a hound dog mix anyway. I am around 1 year old, up-to-date on my shots and spayed and I'm a petite 41 pounds. I'm a very sweet and loving girl with a goofy personality! I may come across as a little timid when I first meet you, but I warm right up with an introductory belly rub. I love to play fetch; though I don't always remember to bring it back. Oops! I also love to go for walks. I'm housebroken and working on crate training. I'd rather be close to my humans (who wouldn't) but am getting used to sleeping in the crate at night; it's not so bad, especially since I get a yummy chewy when I go in.

I like to be the lead dog so my initial reaction to new dogs is a case-by-case situation. It'd be best if we can arrange for a doggie bone date to meet any K-9 companions I may share a new home with. I am a very affectionate girl though, and will curl up right on your lap at the end of the day just to schmooze a little. I love my human siblings too. They run around and play with me and that is just what a young pup like me needs!

I'm also very smart and very focused. I already know how to sit! My foster mom is working with me every day and will soon know all the other commands like down and stay and wait and...well you get the picture. All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to FCHS, which is a NO kill facility. The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and pups are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted.
