Crate Trained: Harlow's previous owners had her confined to a crate with no socialization. She becomes very anxious and scared when crated. Harlow is a good girl being left in the house when no one is home.

Arrival story: A very kind Animal Control Officer worked very hard to get me out of a bad situation where I wasn’t being cared for like I should.

Approximate age / Weight: 1 year / 25 lbs.

Personality: I am an inquisitive young dog with a real zest for life! After spending so much time in a basement, away from people I so desperately wanted to be near, I am ready to love, love, love on all humans. I am learning not to jump up for attention and be mouthy when I play. I like toys and walks (I wish it was warmer outside!) and I would really like a person in my life that would like to go for long walks and/or runs. I am only 25lbs and mostly full grown at my age. While I am little I am sure I can keep up with you. I also wear a harness when I walk. I would soooo enjoy a fenced back yard to run and romp and play fetch with you, too!

I haven’t had a lot of interactions with other dogs so I don’t know how to behave around them but slowly I am being introduced to other canines on walks and such. At this time it would be best if I were an only doggy in a home. I am working on my good manners.

Forever home: I would like a person who promises to teach me all the things good dogs know, in a kind and gentle manner. I would enjoy going to training class with you and be the only dog in your home. While not every dog needs a fenced yard it is best that I have one unless you are a runner / avid walker that could get me out for daily sniffs and to expend a little built-up energy

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
