Meet Dougie
Hi! My name is Dougie. I'm a bit of a local celebrity...you might have seen me on CBS Boston's Pet Parade (http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/02/09/pet-parade-broken-tail-rescue-in-worcester/)
I'm the sweetest boy you'll ever meet. In fact, my foster mom thinks I'm an ambassador for my breed because I'm pure love :) While I'm just under 50 lbs, I still think I'm a lapdog and will take any opportunity to snuggle with you. Just the other day, my foster mom introduced me to her mom and I jumped right up into her rocking chair to snuggle...it was wonderful ;)
Right now, I am really enjoying indoor comforts. A warm bed, full meals, and a cuddle buddy are a significant improvement from the situation I was rescued from...someone left me tied to a door in Somerville :( Despite such a rocky start, my sunny personality continues to shine. I guess you could say I am an optimist. I just know that my perfect family is out there and we'll find each other soon!
At 8-9 months, I am still young so I have lots of energy and enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities. At the dog park and daycare, I make fast friends. In fact, I tend to be on the submissive side so if a little dog wants to boss me around for a while, I'm okay with that. I really just want everyone to get along!
Outside of the park, I love to go hiking and am learning to run on-leash. When it comes to training, I'm all about the snacks. If you've got a tasty treat, you've got my full attention. Right now, I am perfecting my 'sit' and 'down' but I am looking forward to learning even more commands with your help!
Like many puppies, I am very curious about cats. I think I would like to chase them so it might be best if I live in a dog-only household.
Oh and did I mention how very handsome I am? I mean just look at those blue eyes ;)
