Artemus is a spectacularly handsome rescue from the streets, and will always remember how grateful he is to have a loving family. He entertains his foster family with his constant chirping meows (he makes a great conversation partner), affinity for any available lap, and confidence in any situation. He instantly loves all people and even makes himself home at the vet!

Artemus craves attention and will sleep at the foot of your bed and follow you around the house to keep you company throughout the day. He goes bonkers for laser toys, toy mice, and catnip. He gets along well with the other kitty in his foster home, but has not met a dog before and would need a gradual introduction to any other pet housemates.

Artemus Grey was born approximately January 2011. He is in good health with the exception of a broken tooth and some mild tartar - he did not have a toothbrush on the streets. Artemus tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which can make him more prone to gingivitis and colds than average cats but the virus is not expected to impact his lifespan or make him feel ill. Artemus should live indoor-only as a solo kitty, with another FIV positive kitty (check out his foster sibling, Sirius Black!) or with a mellow kitty because FIV is transmitted to other cats via bite wounds.

All of our animal companions are in foster homes, so visits are arranged with the foster family. To set up a time to meet one of our animal companions, we must first have a completed application on file.

Please note that we do not adopt animal companions out to homes that show signs of indoor smoking. Adoption fee: $95

Adoption package: All animal companions adopted out of our foundation will have had a Well Pet Exam, be current on vaccines (cats: FVRCP, Rabies; dogs: DHPP, Rabies) according to age, treated for worms, fleas, and/or ear mites, and micro-chipped. Cats will be tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and cats 6+ months of age will be tested for FeLV & FIV. Animal companions will be neutered/spayed prior to or post adoption depending on his/her age.
