Arrival story: I was originally adopted back in 2006 from a different unknown rescue. My mom and grandpa took care of me until they both passed away. I am looking for my last forever home, again.

Approximate age / Weight: 9.5 years young and 78.5lbs.

Personality: I was originally adopted back in 2006 from a different unknown rescue. My mom and grandpa took care of me until they both passed away. I am looking for my last forever home, again.

I am a bit shy and nervous at first, but once I warm up... I LOVE to be petted!. Due to my thick skin and fur coat, I enjoy this cold weather which worries my foster mom because I stay outside for 10+ minutes at a time. I make the best snow angels, too! Lying on the rug and couch is nice and I prefer to be close to my person as much as I can. My foster mom says that I "dance" when she gets the leash out. I love, love, love going on walks!

I am house-trained, crate-trained and have all-around good house manners. A home without stairs is best for me. I have an old ACL injury and have a few too many pounds on me right now, which makes it painful to maneuver lots of steps. My foster mom has me on a diet and walks me daily. I should be nice and trim by the spring/summer! I would also prefer a fenced in yard, since I enjoy being outdoors so much. I am very smart and listen well so if you adopt me we could be great walking buddies!

I previously lived with another dog but I would prefer to be the only dog now. I would enjoy having kitty friends, though. I am good at the vets office and ride well in the car, too.

Forever home: My ideal home would be with people who love to go for walks and/or have a yard to hang out in and enjoy watching squirrels. I wouldn’t mind having kitty friends, either, but I prefer to be the only dog in the home. I would want my people to keep me fit and trim, too. In return, I promise to be a loving and faithful companion.

Contact: Please contact wtdr2008@yahoo.com if you’re interested in adopting Princess!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
