My name is Nelly, or as my foster mom likes to call me, Nell-Bell. She calls me that because, just like a Southern Bell, I am sweet as pie and have impeccable manners. Don't get me wrong, I can run with the big dogs when I'm in the yard--just check out the video of me playing with my foster brother, a mastiff. I run circles around that guy! However, once back indoors, I'm quiet, demure and just want to sit next to my person on the couch and cuddle. Well, I admit.... sometimes I run after the cats in the house but when they start that awful hissing I get scared and run away. They do have such sharp claws, after all, and even though I'm only playing, the cats really don't seem to have much of a sense of humor where the game of chase is concerned. They are soooo touchy! I don't bark much at all and my foster mom loves that about me because her dog does enough barking for the both of us. During mealtime, I sweetly wait to be told which dish of food is mine and then take my time eating, just like a proper lady should. When my foster mom offers me treats I take them ever so gently from her hand, always remembering to be ladylike. I know how to walk nicely on leash and love my daily strolls around the block with my foster brother. I'm hoping to find a furrever home that will appreciate my sweet southern ways and will be loving and gentle in return. I know you're out there. Here I am--come and take me!
ADOPTION FEE: $300.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative. ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org. Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possibly. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed.
