Calvin fit instantly in our (foster) home and will be just as happy to move right into his forever home too. Cal, as we call him, is approximately 18 months old and weighs 56 pounds. He still has some goofy puppy tendencies, like being clumsy and throwing himself on the floor when he wants to lay down. He's GREAT with kids and dogs, and currently lives with a large Lab and a 12 year old girl. He's crate and potty trained and sleeps blissfully through the night. Cal takes treats so gently he must have been someone's dog at one point (before he spent 6 months in an outdoor shelter) because as soon as he sees you with food in your hand, he automatically sits and presents his paw to you. He's got a super personality and will put a smile on your face when ever you look at him. Its almost as though he walks around with a permanent smile. He loves to chase a tennis ball and will present it to you when he wants you to play. Tug-o-war his is favorite game with his canine buddy, too. He's good on a leash; going for two walks a day and is showing improvement each day. If you're looking for a young dog to grow up as a companion to your children, CAL IS IT! ADOPTION FEE: $300.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative. ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org. Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possibly. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed.
