Meet Buddy

We get by with a little help from our friends, but to really THRIVE you need a Buddy. Lucky for you, that's my name and I'm looking for a home! I ended up with the nice folks at Broken Tail Rescue when my people moved away and just left me and my feline siblings behind. I know... pretty crummy, but my faith in the human race was restored by a nice neighborhood couple who fed me on their porch, gave me my present name, and even bought me a nice fluffy bed that keeps me toasty warm. That bed came with me to my foster home, and I am rather attached to it, so it will be coming with me when I get adopted. Gosh I hope that will be soon. My foster mom is great, but I really want a home to call my own.

So, a little more about me. I'm about 2 years old (I lost my day planner when my people moved, so I'm not exactly sure of my birth date), so I am past the shred-the-curtains-and-furniture stage that some kittens go through. I am also litter-box trained. I was initially a little nervous around new people, but I now greet my foster mom's visitors and seek out pats from them. When they pat me they always comment on how soft my fur is. My foster mom combs me regularly and I roll from side to side so she doesn't miss a spot.

I also like to supervise the repairmen who come to the house. I sit right near them - they bill by the hour, you know, so I want to make sure they stay on task! My very favorite thing is a nice belly rub. When I want one of those, I roll onto my back and look up at you with my pretty eyes.

I have tested positive for FIV, but don't let that worry you. FIV is absolutely not transferable to humans or dogs, and it's not easily transferred to other cats. I don't need any special care or medication. All you need to do is keep me inside and love me and I can live a normal life. I have tested negative for feline leukemia. I'm neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on all my vaccinations, and I receive a monthly flea preventative.
