Arrival story: Sweet Juniper came to us from a crowded shelter up north.

Approximate age / Weight: 9 years young and 43lbs

Personality: Juniper spent her early days as a working dog for people that really didn't care about her welfare as a living being. As a result, she had extensive dental disease and lost all of her teeth! Not a single one is left. But what she does have now is an adorable, endearing, tongue out- to-the-side look. This is no reflection of her overall health, though. She received a stellar blood work-up and observing her at play she looks like a pup with the resident 2 year old foster dog brother which proves that this 9 year old girl is still in great shape! Juniper just needs someone to actually love and care for her like she so deserves. By the way, eating is not a problem for Juniper as she has no problem eating a mixture of kibble and wet food. It can just be a tad messy sometimes.

Juniper enjoys the company of other dogs and adores being cuddled and pampered and sleeps up close to her foster Mom in bed every night, something she surely did not experience in her earlier years.

Forever home: Juniper is very quiet and doesn't bark that often. She would make a great companion to someone who wants a fairly active snuggle bug. She would prefer another canine sibling or parent who would be home with her most of the time because she prefers life with company.

Contact: Please contact mauipurr@yahoo.com if you’re interested in adopting Juniper!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
