Her name is Emma. She is a 9 month old purebred Border collie. She has energy and is true to her working group ethic. She was purchased as a puppy from a breeder and after 7 months was returned to breeder per her contract due to family issues. She is now with foster family and is working on her trust and fear issues. She required a level of patience. She is playful and friendly with foster family’s Border collie and is respectful of fosters family’s other dog. She likes and is starting to show interest in toys. She shows most of working collie traits, is very light boned and lighting fast. She is crate trained and house broken and although underweight is slowing gaining pounds.
Emma is definitely an active dog and will do best with someone who has experience with high energy or agility dogs. She will require training and some sort of external stimulation. Emma is very sweet with her foster family once she has had time to burn off some of her endless energy. Although Emma could make a wonderful pet she would be happiest with a job or daily activity that utilizes her true breed qualities. Foster family believes she would do well in sporting dog or in a herding environment. Emma is located in the Manassas, VA area, please contact drewmain01@yahoo.com for more information.
