Meet Macy! Weighing just under 90 pounds, Macy is tall, slender and graceful. Macy is around 2 and a half years old. She first came to us as a stray with 6 newborn puppies. She was a wonderful, hardworking young mom to her pups. They grew up and have all been adopted to loving homes. Macy is now spayed and has the world at her "paw-tips"! We're not sure what happened in her previous life, but we know she is extremely appreciative of everything she has now. She is curious, goofy, and constantly craves human attention. Macy always loves going new places, tasting new treats, and learning what funny sounds the different squeeker toys will make. She is also extremely intelligent and has mastered simple commands like sit, "kennel up"/place, paw/shake, down, and come. She is also doing well with wait, stay, leave it, and, sometimes, roll over. She is a constant source of entertainment and cuddles for her foster family, but what she really can't wait for is a forever family to show her all the things we think she missed out on!

Macy does well with most other dogs, as long as they have a formal and slow introduction. She also does well with most barnyard animals and shows natural guardian/herding instincts around them. We would not recommend that she go to a home with cats or other small animals. Due to her size, or her lack of self-awareness of her size, we would be cautious of homes with small children as well. She has a fair amount of energy, but settles down nicely after she gets some of her restlessness out on a long walk or playing in the back yard with her canine foster brother. Macy walks very nicely on her "Easy Walk" harness. Macy is house trained and crate trained, but also does well just hanging around the house. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

We believe that Macy is a pure-bred Great Pyrenees. This is a unique and enduring breed. We highly recommend that anyone interested in adopting Macy research the breed characteristics. For her protection, we will require that Macy go to a home with a securely fenced yard. She would do well with an experienced owner who can guide her energy and independence into constructive activities, like long walks and training!
