Date of birth: 2004

6/20/2014: Joy is a darling little Terrier mix. She's a very sweet-natured girl. She is ~9 years old and weighs 30 lbs. The person who brought her to us said that she was a stray and had been hanging around her house for about a month.

Joy gets along very well with other dogs. She loves people and enjoys going to satellite adoption events and meeting new people -- she'll work the crowd in order to say hello to as many people as possible! She's calm but she's also got some pep. She goes for walks and she completed the 1 Mile Walk at our Dog-N-Jog event with no problem.

Joy is currently in a foster home with other dogs. She is house trained for the most part, but she needs to be let out more frequently and will occasionally have an accident.

Joy has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. We also did a dental on her. She tested positive for heartworms but has completed treatment. She's a sweetheart and deserves a good home!

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
