Westley is a sweet and spunky pup with a personality as amazing as those ears of his! He's great with adults and does great with kids. Westley is currently living in a foster home with a cat and although he can be a bit excitable in his attempts to play with him, we think with time and sufficient transition Westley could live in a home with a dog-savvy feline sibling. He currently lives with two canine brothers (one his size and one 60 lbs) and loves to play with them both. Don't let his little size fool you, he really is a big dog at heart and would get along great with a larger dog looking for a little sidekick.

Westley came to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue as a young pup in 2010 and was adopted, but unfortunately his adopter has needed to assume a caretaker role for an elderly parent, who is allergic to Westley. This means he has found himself back in Lucky Dog's care, looking for a new chance at his happy ever after, through no fault of his own (note: Westley has gone by the name Dash for the last three years, so his foster family still calls him by the name he has come to know).

Westley is very smart and sweet, and loves to burrow under blankets and cuddle up with his people after a good romp of playtime and wrestling with his doggie foster brothers. Westley does have a tendency to bark and cry when his people leave (which his foster family is trying to help him through), so we don't recommend apartment living.

Westley would do great with an active family and would really enjoy a regular routine of walks or hikes, off leash play in the yard or trips to the dog park, and plenty of squeaky toys to de-stuff and tennis balls to fetch. He will be sure to impress you with his clever wit and spunky demeanor, and already knows quite a few basic training cues (but would love to learn more about how he can wow you with his smarts in doggy school). Naturally athletic and agile, he'd also be a superstar in the agility ring.

Like most dogs transitioning to a new home, Westley may need a refresher on housetraining, although he has been house trained in his previous home and has not had any accidents with his foster family.
