This handsome boy is Opie. He is a sweet, younger pittie-mix. Opie ended up at the shelter with his Maltese brother, who has since been adopted. Now it's time for Opie to have his happy ending! Opie LOVES to play with toys and could run around the yard entertaining himself all day if you let him. It's so fun watching how happy he is when he's playing. However, for a younger boy, he is also fairly calm. Once play time is over, he likes to cuddle and give kisses. Opie has been participating in doggie obedience classes and is a star at basic commands. We wouldn't have been able to get such great pictures of him if he wasn't a master at "stay"! Opie prefers little dogs, as he is somewhat fearful of bigger dogs. However, the shelter volunteers have been working with him and he is making a lot of progress. Opie recently attended a shelter event with more than 20 other dogs, and did fantastically. He has also been walking one on one with other large dogs and is really building his confidence around dogs his own size. While Opie is shy of other large dogs, he is absolutely, 110%, comfortable with people. His tail wags frantically when you walk up to his shelter kennel. He'll take any affection you are willing to give him. Opie definitely loves his people! This boy has one of the sweetest personalities around and truly deserves to find his forever family. Please come to the shelter and ask to meet him! He will definitely make you smile.
