Ruby Yorkshire Terrier & Poodle Mix Chicago, IL

Ruby is a beautiful, sweet and playful six-year-old, 14-pound, female Yorkie-Poo (Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle-mix) looking for a loving guardian. Lovely Ruby loves nothing more than long walks and loving belly rubs. She adores snuggling on the couch and playing with her dog and cat friends. She’s good with dogs of all shapes and sizes but prefers small dogs who will play with her. Ruby knows how to sit on command and enjoys dancing for treats. Ruby is perfectly housebroken when her foster family is home with her. However, when they leave she tends to have accidents so they leave pee pads out for her.

Ruby came into Chicago Animal Care and Control as part of a neglect case. She was a matted skinny dirty mess. She’s now beautifully clean and well-groomed.

Ruby is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. She had a few minor seizures in March 2013 when she first came into foster care. She has since been taking a small dose of phenobarbital twice a day which has kept the seizures under control. She may be on the medication for the rest of her life, but it does not slow Ruby down and the vet says she should have a full and happy life. Ruby’s adoption fee of $200 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
